This is the time of year when everyone is scrambling to make new year’s resolutions that will help fulfill the whole concept of: “a new year, a new you.” I’m not a fan of resolutions, to be honest. They make me think of dieting, rules, restrictions, and failure, from my binge eating and body hating days. Instead, I wanna encourage you to set intentions for the new year.
Take some time to reflect on what you want to usher into your life in 2019. Is there a goal that you want to accomplish? Is there an experience you want to have? Do you want to travel to a place on your bucket list? Maybe you have more than one intention – that’s totally fine.
Once you’ve honed in on your intentions, take some time and space to align yourself with the energy of what you want. Visualize the heck out of your intentions. What are they? How will they make you feel? Viscerally feeling into manifesting your intentions and playing out how it would look is super important to aligning with the energy of what you’re trying to call in. Think of yourself as a magnet and you want to be on the same wavelength as the energy of your intentions to draw them to you.
It can be super helpful to journal on your intentions. This can take the concept of energetically aligning yourself with them to a whole new level. You can even write about where you are now vs. where you want to be, and then the steps you need to take to close that gap. Create little steps that are actionable. Don’t get impatient, but be realistic with what it will take to truly achieve your desires.
Finally, and this is SUPER important – don’t be attached to the how. How your intentions or desires will come to you is not your business. The how is the Universe’s job. True manifestation lacks attachment to the how. Instead, see the lessons in moving closer to what you want, and appreciate every small step toward your goals. Your job is simply to focus your attention and energy on what you want, ask it from the Universe, and then surrender to how it all unfolds (and it will).
