One of the top blocks that we see in our clients and potential clients, and one that you probably have or will experience as a coach, is the fear of investing in yourself, better known as scarcity. To be honest, scarcity is something that still pops up for me from time to time, even though I run a 7-figure business. So I want to share how I’ve invested in myself and my company over the years, and jam on why although investing in yourself can be terrifying, it’s something that you NEED to do to be a successful coach and entrepreneur.
Since the start of my career as a wellness coach, I’ve invested upwards of $400,000 in business mentorships, workshops, training programs, certifications, executive coaching, and energy work. All of these investments were made so that I could equip myself with the most innovative and aligned strategies for building this empire. To this day, I am constantly investing in my own evolution, both professionally and personally.
It wasn’t always easy to invest in myself and my company. When I first started, I was constantly overwhelmed with scarcity and fear. Investing in my business without the certainty or a guarantee that I could make back that money was viscerally uncomfortable.
But here’s the cool (and magical) thing: in every single instance, one thing always held true was that when I chose abundance and mustered trust in myself and the process, I was rewarded with returns on my investments beyond my wildest dreams. It was like getting a prize for trusting my inner knowing and surrendering to what felt good and was calling to me. Hungry for Happiness was built on a series of these instances: me needing to choose abundance over scarcity.
When it comes to investing in anything, but especially in yourself, this is the best advice that I can give you: drop into your body and let it decide for you. Don't allow your logical, monkey mind, which is always in fear and scarcity mode, make such an important decision. The part of you that makes the decision to invest in your potential is the same part of you that will build a heart-centered, thriving business. So in those moments when you’re struggling to invest in yourself, know that your terror is simply conditioning that you need to shed so that you can level up and live the life you’re meant to.
